Saturday 23rd Oct.2021:The  National Chairman of  the Association of  Community Pharmacist of Nigeria ACPN, Pharm. Adewale Aderemi Oladigbolu has lauded the recent training of Community Pharmacist on Vaccination exercise by the Association.
He commended the feat during a recent chat with CEOAFRICA saying that it is a welcome development.
“Community Pharmacist have been providing health care services for decades, but its important that the demand from the community to the Pharmacist is also expanding, one of the demands is Pharmacy based vaccination program. This is what will offer value to the generality of Nigerian people and as the Number one Pharmacist in Nigeria,it is my responsibility to make sure that this demand is being fulfilled. All over the world we have seen that vaccinations takes place in community Pharmacy,we have seen that there has been a tremendous improvement in the profile of vaccines over the centuries. When we introduce pharmacy based vaccination programs, the uptake from the people is improved.  The present vaccination rate for the Covid-19 in Nigeria is still below 2.5% which is pathetic for a country like ours,if the vaccination exercise is liberalised ,people will take this vaccines easily because this Pharmacies open for extended hours. The ACPN  pledges to use only trained individuals, selected ,willing and capable pharmacist to carry out this vaccinations, so I am using this opportunity to appeal to people who are policy makers that they should please not contribute to the death of Nigerians by trying to stop this exercise.”

On his plan for Community Pharmacist’s access to funds, he said that he has had several meetings with Financial institutions in regards to partnership, loans and seminars adding that talks are ongoing for a business to business concept between community Pharmacist and the firms. “our goal is to de-capitalise the open drug system of  distributing drugs so that once we have all the Manufacturers, wholesalers and distributors on the same eco-system,IT based ,then drug prices can drop and Pharamacist can earn more.”
