The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), has cancelled general cut-off marks for admission into tertiary institutions.

It has, therefore, given the institutions freedom to set their individual minimum benchmark for admission.

The Board took the decision at the 2021 policy meeting on Tuesday which was held virtually and chaired by the Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu.

Recall that CEOAFRICA had earlier reported that JAMB will meet on Tuesday with heads of tertiary institutions, to decide the fate of over 1.4 million candidates who wrote the 2021 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), over the cut off marks for the 2021 admission exercise.
