MONDAY- 16th August, 2021: The Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN) executives on Thursday, 12th August paid a courtesy visit to the Director- General of Tinubu Support Organization, Hon. (Alhaji) Aminu Suleiman; Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Lagos on Housing, Hon. Ayodeji Amodu and Prof. Hope Eghagha, an English and Literacy Professor at the University of Lagos in grounding of the 40th Anniversary Celebration and Annual National Scientific Conference.

Led by the ACPN National Chairman, Dr. Samuel O. Adekola, the visits was to officially notify them of the anniversary and the association’s intent to present to them Excellent Leadership awards.

The Director General, Hon. (Alhaji) Aminu Suleiman in his response to the invitation, appreciated the executives of APCN for the visit, and expressing his excitement, he described Pharmacy as one of the most impactful professions in the society who work tirelessly behind the scene to give Nigeria a good healthcare system.

He pledged to honour their invitation and support the association towards achieving their aims and objectives.

The Director General revealed that his only sister is a pharmacist and that is one of the major reasons why he is excited at the opportunity to identify with the association.

Speaking further, he noted that he has been looking forward to contributing to the association long before the courtesy visit of the association.

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Lagos on Housing, Hon. Ayodeji Amodu and Prof. Hope Eghagha, an English and Literacy Professor at the University of Lagos, who is also a two-term commissioner in Delta State, heartily welcomed and appreciated the APCN executives for their visit, describing the community pharmacists as reputable stakeholders in the country who are highly respected because of their roles and impacts in the existence of humanity.

They accepted to not only accept the invitation, but also support the association in any capacity whatsoever.

Present during the visit were Dr. Samuel O. Adekola DSA MAW, the National Chairman of ACPN; Pharm. Ambrose Ezeh MAW, National Secretary of ACPN; Pharm. (Mrs.) Omokhafe Ashore, the National Treasurer of ACPN; Pharm. Prince Olufemi I. Adebayo, ACPN Member, Board of Trustee (BOT), and Hon. Craig Segun Adedipe, Consultant to ACPN.

Recall that CEOAFRICA earlier reported that ACPN 40th Anniversary and Annual National Scientific Conference with theme “Abuja Declaration: Equipping Community Pharmacists for Universal Health Coverage,” is scheduled to take place at the Conference Hotel, Abeokuta, Ogun State,

The Executive Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun is the Special Guest of Honour and will be among the prominent dignitaries at the 40th anniversary celebration and annual national scientific conference.

His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Babatunde, (Ooni of Ife) is the Royal Father of the day and Prof. Lere Baale FSPN, CEO Business School Netherlands Int. Ng, the keynote speaker; Pharm. Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa, the President of Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, Chief Host of the conference; Dr. (Mrs.) Dere Awosika, the Chairman of Access Bank plc, Chairman of the opening ceremony and Dr.Samuel O. Adekola, the National chairman are all going to grace the occasion and many other dignitaries from all walks of life will be at the conference.

The Association’s National Scientific Conference is always a major event where people from all walks of life are invited.

 

This 40th anniversary and annual National Scientific conference promises to be engaging, memorable and impactful on the healthcare system in Nigeria.
