Tuesday- 27th July, 2021: Popular Nigerian human rights activist, Deji Adeyanju, has said democracy has collapsed under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Adeyanju made the remark on his tweeter handle condemned the decision of the Department of State Services, DSS, taking over the Federal High Court yesterday.

According to him, DSS refusal to allow lawyers gain access into the Federal High Court, Abuja, shows that democracy has collapsed.

The activist also accused the Buhari-led government of having no regards for the judiciary.

Adeyanju in a tweet, wrote “The DSS taking over our courts and stopping lawyers from gaining access shows democracy has collapsed in Nigeria and the Buhari regime have no regard for the judiciary.”

Recall that DSS operatives had yesterday prevented some lawyers from gaining access into the courtroom for the hearing of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB’s trial.

The decision of the secret police had led to a shouting match between the lawyers and the secret police.
