Gunmen have invaded the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, the Benue State Capital and kidnapped unspecified number of students.

It was gathered that the gunmen stormed the learning institution on Sunday night and started shooting sporadically to scare the university security personnel.  

The university’s Director of Information, Protocol and Public Relations Unit (IPPR), Mrs Rosemary Waku, confirmed this on Monday morning.

The state’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Anene Sewuese Catherine, also confirmed the incident to newsmen.
