As the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) holds screening for aspirants  jostling to fill the governorship position in Adamawa state tomorrow (Saturday), one of the aspirants , Dr.Aliyu  Idi Hong, has expressed confidence in clinching the governorship ticket.

The screening exercise expected to attract the attention of the big wigs in the party and all the followers of the various aspirants who as of the last count is believed to be 14.

Speaking of his chances at getting the nod of the party, Hong who was also a former minister of state for tourism and secretary of the Adamawa State PDP said he has over 95 percent chances of being nominated as he sees himself as top rated and most qualify from the lots.

Hong sees his loyalty and commitment to the party in the state as standing him out from the lots as he has never left the party since inception,  “I have been a loyal member of the party and at no time left the party for any other party since 1999.”

Hong said his commitment and devotion to the party is unquestionable as he as a grassroots politician has done his best for the party and commend huge following, which he believe is all that is needed for him to win the bye-election bill to hold on October 11.

He added  ‘‘I have no fear whatsoever about the screening exercise holding tomorrow as I have a clean bill of health because I have met all the requirements of the party and that of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.’’

Reminded that the field is a huge one with many heavy weights in the party, such as the acting governor, Fintri, Marwa, Ribadu, Gulak and others, Hong, said he is not bothered by the credentials of the other contestants but expressed confidence in his own credential, ability and confidence of the people and the party leaders which he enjoys to win him the ticket.

Hong promised to turn the face of the state around once he gets to Adamawa State Government House, insisting that he is on a rescue mission to save the soul of the state, which has been badly battered by the maladministration of the former governor
