Imo State Council of Elders has called on the Presidency and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in imo state to look for ways of settling the disagreement between the governor, rochas okorocha and the senator representing Imo East, Senator Chris Anyanwu.

The Council of elders, therefore, called on President Goodluck Jonathan to call Peoples Democratic Party members in Imo State in order to prevent the escalation of the situation.

the Chairman of the imo state Council of elders Okey Njemanze made this call at a press conference yesterday in Abuja. The chairman made the call based on the fact that 2015 elections are around the corner and if the issue is not resolved very early, it might cause unhealthy rivalry in the state

“This call is necessary in the light of the forthcoming 2015 general elections. The incident of the recent clash between Governor Okorocha’s convoy and that of Senator Chris Anyanwu, who represents Imo East senatorial zone and other incessant attacks against the governor could trigger political crisis in the state”.

He stated that if the situation was not tackled immediately, there might be possible blood bath among loyalists of different political gladiators in the state.
