Dr Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, Former Commissioner of Education in Oyo State
Dr Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, a Former Commissioner of Education in Oyo State and Publicity Secretary of Oyo State Accord Party made this assertion that the death of Aare Musulumi of Yoruba land, Alhaji Abdulazeez Arisekola Alao came to him as a shock probably because he never expected his death at this point in time because of his impact on humanity. “We are shocked but as someone who believes in God, when God decides to do anything we accept it by faith.’ He stated. “The issue of death is inevitable; it will come when it will come. We believe that the time has come and we pray that almighty Allah will grant him eternal repose”.
Dr Adeniran speaking with the correspondents of CEOAFRICA lamented on the vacuum the Aare Musulumi of Yoruba land had left. He said ‘It’s a great vacuum that has been created because He has brought so much glamour and respect to that office to the extent that he was until his death the vice president of the supreme council for Islamic affairs. He is also the president of the grand council of Islamic affairs. These religious roles will make it extremely a difficult task to get someone to fill these positions. We pray that all mighty Allah will give us, his family, People of Ibadan land, Oyo state and Nigerians as a whole the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. I know so many of us will miss him greatly, those who have benefitted from his philanthropic activities will also miss him greatly. It’s a sad and shocking death; he came from God and has returned to God’
The Former Commission also lauded the public holiday declared by the governor of the state. “It’s within the governor’s purview to exercise such power and he has exercised that power to declare a public holiday to honour the late Aare Musulumi of Yoruba land. Don’t forget that by virtue of the burial coming the same day as the public holiday, the government has envisaged that there will be a great influx of people into Ibadan. So government might have used the public holiday to reduce the effect of the log jam that would have been created during the burial. It’s a well taken decision. I don’t think that too much for someone who has affected the lives of the people positively”.
He concluded by advising that we should take things easy. We should not be desperate about anything because one day we will all die and those things we are desperate about, we won’t take any of those things to God. He advised that we should all draw closer to God because that’s where our final return would be.
