Husband beats wife to death in Ibadan

Forty-seven-year-old man, Ismaila Alabi has been arrested for allegedly beaten his wife, Bashirat Alabi to death.

The suspect was arrested by men of the Oyo State Police Command at Ile-tuntun area of Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria.

 Acting on information, policemen from Eleyele division swung into action and arrested the man, while the lifeless body of the deceased was said to have been found by detectives lying on the ground in front of their house.

After beaten the woman, she was said to have left their matrimonial home for her mother's house at Apete area of Ibadan for treatment at an hospital, where she died.

 In her message after been rejected by the doctors at the hospital, she was said to have confided in her mother that her husband used charm on her and thereafter gave up the ghost.

Something like boils was said to have grown all over her body which doctor could not find solution to, leading to her rejection by the doctor.

Alabi, the suspect while speaking with newsmen, denied his involvement in his wife death, saying "I did not use anything to beat her.

 

"It has been about two years since we fought, but this fight just came up and she left for mother's house at Apete. I was shocked when I heard she had died," the suspect said.
