Oyo First Lady reiterates commitment to children welfare

The wife of the Executive Governor of Oyo state, Mrs Florence Ajimobi (JP), during the weekend reiterated her commitment to ensuring that the rights of children especially those with physical challenges are not trampled upon

 Mrs Ajimobi reaffirmed her commitment to the welfare of the children on Saturday while celebrating her 55th birthday with children of the Juvenile and children home in Ijokodo and her adopted children from other homes across the state

According to a statement signed by her Special Assistant on Media, Yejide Gbenga-Ogundare, children in the state will always have a champion in the Oyo First Lady

 Mrs Ajimobi, who stated that celebrating with the children of the home, all of whom are special to her is the greatest birthday gift, called on people not to give up on children with special homes

 She explained that the children do not need pity but care, love, understanding, patience and assistance, adding that their condition is just a challenge that cannot stop them from being useful in the community

 She further added that the present administration in the state through the Ministry of women affairs, will continue to ensure that children with special needs are catered for in order to allow them become something in life.

 Mrs Ajimobi's adopted children swarmed around her at the event, adding to her fulfilment. Speaking, she expressed her joy and thanked God for giving her the grace to witness another birthday and for  the grace and opportunity to touch lives .

Other activities to mark Mrs Ajimobi's birthday was a thanksgiving service at the Government house Chapel and a prayer/thanksgiving service with the Women
