NIGERIA (Nasarawa)-The Local Government Election scheduled for today in Nasarawa State has commenced despite initial delay in the distribution of materials.

It was gathered that as at 10.am, officials of the Nasarawa Independent Electoral Commission (NASIEC) were still at police stations sorting materials in Akwanga Local Government, with similar situation of things recorded in Keffi, Toto and Karu Local Governments.

In Toto, there was mild drama as political parties rejected the change of adhoc officers. This contributed to the delay.

In Obi Local Government Area in the southern part of the state, witnesses say three trucks of mobile police officers arrived from Gombe State to re-enforce security in the area.
