Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, on Friday, paid a courtesy visit to the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Jimoh Oladunni Oyewumi, Ajagungbade III in his Ogbomoso palace Telegraph reports.

Chief Obasanjo, who arrived Ogbomoso at 6.05pm in company of the former Secretary to the State Government, Chief Olayiwola Olakojo, was received at the palace by the Chairman, Senate Committee on ICT and Cyber Crime, Senator Abdulfatai Buhari.

The ex-president, who was driven to the palace in his black Toyota Land Cruiser car, was fully clad in flowing purple lace garment.

After exchanging pleasantries with the Monarch, he was ushered in for dinner, where he was treated to a sumptuous meal of Amala and Gbegiri.

While eating, the Soun left the main palace and joined Obasanjo and his entourage at the dining table for a private meeting, which a palace source said might not be unconnected with politics, unity of the South West and Nigeria as a whole.

“Baba (Soun) was happy to have received such an August visitor and when such people visit, Baba will discuss issues bordering on the development of the country, Oyo State and his domain, but I can’t say if they discussed politics,” the source revealed.

The source furthered that the former president commended the Senator, representing Oyo North Senatorial District, Senator Abdulfatai Buhari for his political dexterity and contributions to the development of the country and his constituency.

While Senator Buhari was introducing Hon Segun Dokun Odebunmi, the only Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Federal Lawmaker in Oyo State to the former president, Obasanjo said, “I know him but is he doing well?

If he is doing well, let him continue, but he may need to change platform,” indirectly suggesting that Odebunmi should defect to the ruling APC.
