Nigeria's biggest airline, Arik Air, says in a statement that it has resumed flights following a deal to end a strike that grounded many of its flights yesterday, leaving thousands of local and foreign passengers stranded.

Ceoafrica gathered that Aviation unions called the strike on Tuesday to demand that the company pay them seven months’ salary arrears, which led to strike that was eventually called off  upon mediation by the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).

The airline added it has provided bigger planes to cope with the backlog of passengers whose flights were affected by the strike.
