A passenger has died aboard a Kenya Airways flight from Nairobi, Kenya, to Lagos, Nigeria.
Kenya Airways confirmed the incident in a statement on Wednesday, saying the passenger became unresponsive about 20 minutes before the aircraft landed at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.
The airline said its crew responded immediately by administering first aid and following the appropriate emergency procedures.
According to the statement, the aircraft landed at the airport at 9:41 p.m., where it was met by medical personnel who examined the passenger and confirmed the death.
Kenya Airways expressed condolences to the deceased’s family and friends, while apologising for any inconvenience the incident may have caused other passengers.
The airline said it was respecting the privacy and dignity of everyone involved and was providing the necessary support in coordination with the family, local authorities and aviation regulators.
