Ondo Election: My Next Line of Action Will Be Made Public Soon – Jegede

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the Saturday’s governorship election in Ondo State, Mr. Eyitayo Jegede (SAN), has disclosed that he would make his next line of action known to the public soon.

Jegede who spoke to journalists in Akure, the state capital on Sunday, after the announcement of the winner of the poll by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), thanked the people of the state for their steadfastness love for him.

The PDP candidate who said he was still studying the situation, noted that he would make public his findings in due course.

According to him, ” As you will recall the election in to the governorship seat of Ondo state which holds on the 26 of November, 2016, but about few hours ago INEC made a declaration

“I know we have won the heart of the people and I should thank our people for standing by us, for their show of love and for their steadfastness .

“We are studying the situation and in the fullness of time you will know what’s the position of the party is.

“The events that led to the election is known to us and you. We had 48 hours to prepare for  the election, I was cleared by the court on Wednesday and had only Thursday to campaign and on Saturday I had to go for election

“The request for postponement was denied by INEC for reasons that we are yet to fathom and this are the things in the next few days we will have to review .”

Speaking in the same vein, the State Chairman of the party,Hon. Clement Faboyede said, the party will meet today with all the stakeholders and their decision will be made public.

Faboyede said, “We thank God for the litigation processes and out of the day we came out victorious and our heart desire candidate for PDP was cleared to contest the election but few days to the election and there was no time for campaign and to prepare for election We will meet soon and x-ray every angle and get across to the public .”
