AF&C acquires Kano multi-billion naira fertiliser blending company

Aliyu Fertiliser and Chemical (AF&C), an indigenous firm that sells and distributes fertiliser yesterday announced that it has finally acquired  agro chemical and nutrients company producers of Nagari blended fertiliser  which is also one of the three largest fertiliser blending plants in Nigeria.

Addressing newsmen after the inspection of the newly acquired company, chairman of AF&C, Alhaji Aliyu Yusuf Ibrahim, stated that his firm decided to acquire the company taking into consideration the present global economic recession which necessitated a shift in the present government’s policies towards improving agricultural the sector.

He added that, it was obvious that fertiliser demand had increased but its supply diminished. The chairman also stated that the newly acquired company had been inspected by officials from the Federal Ministry of Agriculture. He revealed that the company would commence operation in the next two months after all repairs and services were completed.

“This company was established in 1993 and it worked up to 2004 and due to some constraints it was shutdown 12 years ago.

“However, with the new ownership of the company, we hope to collaborate with farmer groups in producing qualitative fertiliser that will compete with any qualitative fertiliser brand,“ he said.
