The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi and the President of the Historical Society of Nigeria, Professor C.B.N Ogbogbo have described musical maestro, Sunday Adeniyi Ishola Adegeye (KSA) as a living Legend.

The King of world beats whose birthday witnessed a public lecture titled ';Music industry, the way forward'; had in attendance dignitaries among whom were His Imperial Majesty: Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja ll, the Head of History Department of the faculty of Art, University of Ibadan: Professor C.B.N Ogbogbo, Dr Abel Adeleke, massive presence of students, who thronged to honour KSA at university of Ife.

The Ooni of Ife described KSA as a living Legend. 

The Ooni also decried the dearth of values and tradition in recent musical genres.

"Mentoring is absent between the older and younger ones. When last did the younger ones consult the elders for advices?" The custodian of Yoruba culture and tradition asked rhetorically.

He however, prayed for the celebrant and guests present at the event.

In his remark, the President of the Historical Society of Nigeria and the Head of department of history of the Faculty of Art in University of Ibadan, Professor Ogbogbo, described king Sunny Ade as a "serious intellectual whose success is so commendable that people from all works of life came to celebrate with him."

He charged youths to be skilled in their chosen career, adding that it is the duty of the older generations to bequeath younger generations with high standard legacy hence, the KSA’s generation should mentor the younger generations that will step into their shoes. He lamented the dearth of values in music today by saying the dance steps of yesteryears seems to be gone with the wind.

The erudite professor who went down memory lane said “there was a time I travelled to Tanzania, and I went to the market dressed in African attire to get leather shoes, only for me to be questioned about Nigerian musicians and those in the entertainment world? Nobody asked me about any Professor. Our youths must start projecting Nigeria positively."

In his speech as the Guest Lecturer during the event, Professor Tunji Vidal, spoke about the music industry establishment and the way forward. In his speech which lasted for an hour, Professor vidal reminiscence on music from it’s inception till date by eulogising the contributions of musical legends of blessed memories like late Fela Anikulapo Kuti, late Sikiru Ayinde Barrister, Late Fatai Rolling Dollars and others.

The celebrant appreciated all those who honoured him during the birthday celebration lecture, adding that he’s happy to have reached the age of 70. He specifically appreciated the Ooni of Ife for his presence at the lecture.
