Port Harcourt to Host Historical Society of Nigeria’s 61st Annual Conference

The University of Port-Harcourt and The Ignatius Ajuru University in Port-Harcourt are set to co-host the 61st Annual Conference of the  Historical Society of Nigeria that will hold betwwen October 9, 2016 and October 13, 2016, respectively.

 The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, will be the chief host of the crème-de-la-crème in the field of History and in the Society that will be in attendance.

 The National President, Prof CBN Ogbogbo disclosed in an interview with Ceoafrica that “this year’s edition is a special one hence, the rationale behind the theme for this year’s conference: Nigeria Counts: Issues of National Rebirth.”

 Ogbogbo on behalf of the Historical Society of Nigeria cordially invites all members of the public to the events and enjoins all historians and connoisseurs of history to support the event.

 According to Professor Ogbogbo, the conference will provide a platform for historians, academics, researches, policy-makers and civil society to engage in cross-cutting debate on issues of national rebirth.

 “There would also be room for exhibitions which will attract a fee to be paid by exhibitors,” he added.
