PDP Lawmaker commends Ajimobi on LCDA

Chairman  National Assembly committee on Information National Orientation, Ethics and  Value, Hon Segun Dokun Odebunmi has commended the decision of Oyo state Governor Senator Abiola Ajimobi to approve the creation of additional 35 Local Council Development  Areas in the state.

 Hon Odebunmi   PDP lawmaker from Surulere/Ogo Oluwa federal constituency while speaking at the presentation of gift and trophies to winners of a football competition in his honour  at Iresaadu Baptist Primary school  at the weekend said such decision will boost grassroots development and give the people sense of  belonging.

“This is long overdue, as a former council chairman I have been an advocate of grassroots development which can only be achieved through effective  local government administration  and with this LCDAS the government will be able to penetrate the grassroots so Governor Ajimobi should be commended for the decision”

Hon Odebunmi  urge people to support the government to make the new LCDA function “ The LCDA will help our people and development of communities at the grassroots as well as create more employment  opportunities for our people so we should support it and make it work” He said.

While speaking on why he sponsored football competition among primary schools in surulere local government, the lawmaker said “ This is done to promote sport at the grasstoot and expose our younger ones  to the outside one, we have a lot of talents in the rural areas  and I believe with programs like this they will be exposed and  advance their carriers in football and other forms of sport.

Five of the players who participated in the competition were selected to represent  the local government at the state primary school team  while players from Arolu zone won the trophy after defeating  Ireassdu team with 4-5 penalty shootout .
