Kaya Adwoa Forson is swimming for Ghana at the Rio Olympics.

Before this month’s competition, she had competed in the 200 metre freestyle and 200 metre backstroke at the 2015 World championships in Russia. Aged just 13 at the time, she was the youngest competitor at the World Championships.

Forson lives in Malaga, Spain, and is studying at the Lycée Français International de Malaga and trains with the Real Club Mediterráneo de Málaga

In Rio, she is expected to compete in the 200 metre freestyle competition.

Kaya had several top five and top 10 overall and first places by age group performances in a Rio 2016 approved Qualifying Event that featured 296 athletes representing 49 clubs and 21 countries over two days of competition.

She joined Team Ghana for the games after an initial setback on nationality. It has since been established that she’s Ghanaian with a renewal made to her Passport recently.
