The chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu State, Dr. Ben Nwoye, has accused the Director-General of Voice of Nigeria (VON), Mr. Osita Okechukwu, of creating crisis in the state chapter of the party.

Addressing a press conference at the state secretariat of APC in Enugu on Monday, Nwoye said his attention was drawn to publications in some newspapers purporting that he sacked the vice chairman of APC in Enugu East senatorial zone of the state, Chief Anike Nwoga, because he lambasted the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, for writing the international community over his alleged forgery trial.

Dr. Nwoye accused Osita Okechukwu of masterminding the publication, as he composed and circulated the “falsehood” to the press late Sunday evening using his personal e-mail address and merely added “the name of a surrogate, one Mr. Emeka Anike as the author.”

He said that the VON D-G, whom he described as “gossip terrorist” had done similar thing in the past where he allegedly issued a statement using the name of Chief Anike Nwoga to attack Senator Jim Nwobodo for joining the APC.
