A former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Eseme Eyiboh, on Thursday said Britain should be persuaded to stop its ostrich pontification and purge itself of being safety nets for money laundering and financial crimes.

Eyiboh, who was a former spokesperson for the House, stated this in his reaction to British Prime Minister, David Cameron’s labeling of Nigeria as “fantastically corrupt” nation.

He said, “British Prime Minister – David Cameron by his comment on Nigeria, has breached his diplomatic privileges in public communication and ignonimously exposed his insensitivity to the obvious and glaring irony of Britain serving as one of the cesspools for global economic and financial crimes.

“Sadly too, most of its citizens and companies are big patrons and territories for our stolen oil czars and sundry economic misdemeanours.

“Britain must stop the ‘ostrich’ pontification and purge itself of providing safety nets for money laundering, economic and financial crimes.”
