FCT area council poll: APGA wins Gwagwalada •Collation ongoing in Kuje, AMAC, Abaji

The rescheduled rerun into the four area councils of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, ended peacefully with poor turn-out of voters.
At end of the exercise, the Returning Officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Gwagwalada Area Council, Mallam Adamu Taminu, declared the candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Adamu Mustapha, as winner of the chairmanship seat.
According to Mallam Taminu, APGA candidate polled 15,950 votes to beat his closest rival of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abubakar Jubril, who polled 14,569 votes, while candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) polled 682 votes.
As of the press time, collation of votes were in progress in Kuje, Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) and Abaji respectively.
