
Budding singer, Ekene Osuji Gerald, better known as E’zee has released his first music video for his single titled Fever, a story of love and the journey to finding happiness.
According to the artiste, although the song was written in 2013, it took him three years to produce its video.
Known for his ability to mix Igbo language and English language, E’zee began his foray into music with the church choir in 1993 in Alaba area of Lagos state. Influenced by his mother who was also a chorister, young E’zee began writing his own songs a couple of years later.
“Music is a passion and career for me, and has helped me stay put; I love to have people hear me out, it is not really about the money now,” he said.
Speaking on the message of his songs, he noted that what is predominantly heard today are party and dancehall songs and so he has tried to infuse inspiration in dishing out his songs which spans around every facet of life. He is currently working with artistes Runtown and Phyno, as his next song will feature either of them or both.
“The music industry is a very hard place to be, it is not a grass to grace thing anymore, it is grace to grace because once you don’t have the money, the fame and success, then there’s no head way”, said the Nnamdi Azikiwe University graduate.
The Nigerian recording artist, song writer and performer whose genre of music is contemporary high-life, which he has redefined with a touch of soul is signed on to Donedeal studios, a record label he founded.
