A crippled cobbler has shown that there is strong ability in his disability.
The saying that there is ability in disability has been shown by this crippled cobbler or shoe maker, as they are called in these parts, who, despite his situation, goes about his job with a smile on his face.
The young man identified as Sule, is very popular in the Asokoro area of Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, where he plies his trade and most of his customers say they prefer to give him their shoes to mend and polish for them.
The Kano State born Sule who says he does not see his physical challenges as a factor that should limit him from fending for himself and his family, believes only lazy people would use such situations to be a burden on others.
"I do not see my condition as a factor that should make me to be lazy. God knows why I am like this and I cannot question him. But I have to go about fending for myself and my family.
When I started, people gave me money out of pity but I had to tell them that I am working to earn a living. Now, I have many customers who patronise me because they know I am an expert in fixing and polishing shoes," the amiable Sule said.
