National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olisa Metuh on Tuesday accused the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of plotting to stain him with corruption allegations going by the latest accusations against him.
Speaking in a chat with CEOAfrica source,Metuh who has been linked with N1.4b allegedly traced to his firm’s account by detectives of the anti-graft agency probing the $2.1b arms contract said the aim is to silence him as the voice of the opposition and present key leaders of the party as looters of the nation’s patrimony.
While vowing to address the issues later in the day, Metuh who had earlier claimed not to have received any contract from the federal government also denied receiving monthly payments from the office of the National Security Adviser (NSA) saying “it is the biggest lie in the world”.
“I am going to address these issues today because they are nothing but lies. The allegations are not true. I think it is a media trial and the idea is to ensure that I am stained in such a way that when I am issuing statements on behalf of the party, people will be seeing it differently”.
“The intention is to present us to Nigerians as bourgeoius, the people that squandered Nigeria’s wealth while it is obvious and clear from day one that I have never done government contracts with the federal government”.
“If they are investigating my personal company and personal business, they should say so. If they are investigating my duty as National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, they should say so. But apart from that, I have never done business with the federal government”.
” And it is not true that I am on a monthly payment from the office of the NSA. It is not true and it is the biggest lie in this world and I am going to address these issues today” he said.
