Angolan Cycling Tour Slated For October 7

The first edition of the Angolan international cycling tour, taking place on 7-18 October this year, in various parts of the country will involve the participation of eight cyclists representing the Huambo Cuca Nocebo Team.

Speaking on Thursday, the coordinator of the modality in Huambo, José Xavier, said that the team of the central Huambo province is being prepared to compete at full strength and have good representation.

The tour "Volta Angola", an initiative of the Angolan Cycling Federation (FACI), is part of the celebrations of the 40th anniversary of national independence and will count on the participation of 450 athletes, among Angolans and foreigners.

Expected to begin in Bié province, the race will go through Huambo, Huíla, Namibe, Benguela, Cuanza Sul and Cuanza Norte, Malange, Uíge, Bengo finishing in the capital, Luanda.

It will have 11 rounds and will cover thousand and 177 kilometers.
