A former senator, Florence Ita-Giwa, has commended Nigeria’s famous Pop singer, 2Face Idibia, for singing love songs and celebrating women with his music.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Ita-Giwa poured encomiums on Idibia at musical concert, tagged “2Face: Fortyfied at 40’’, to mark the singer’s 40th birthday on Sunday.

Ita-Giwa said at Eko Hotel venue of the event that the artiste had uplifted and respected women in his songs, and that Nigerian women of all ages were, therefore, in love with him.

“2Face has shown love and respect towards women in his songs and Nigerian women in their teens, 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s love him.

“We all love him; I love him for what he has done for women through his songs,’’ Ita-Giwa said before presenting the celebrator with a necklace and a huge cross pendant.

NAN reports that the concert began at about 10.30 p.m. with comedian, Basketmouth, as the host.

There were performances by Kennis Music’s artiste and 2Face’s lookalike, Jo-El, who was joined on stage by other young artistes — Efa, Rocksteady, AJ and Dammy Krane — to render a medley of some of 2Face’s hits.
