The Managing Director CEOAFRICA and initiator of Geneith Health Competition, Prince Cletus Sunday Iloabanafor, alongside members of the (GHC) team, has joined staff and associates of Geneith Pharmaceuticals in celebrating the Executive Chairman of the company, Chief Emmanuel Umenwa, on his birthday.
Chief Umenwa was received with cheers and goodwill by workers and GHC team members at the company’s headquarters, where tributes were paid to his visionary leadership, commitment to staff welfare, healthcare development and philanthropy.
Speaking during the celebration, Prince Iloabanafor described Chief Umenwa as a distinguished pharmaceutical industry leader whose contributions have significantly impacted healthcare delivery and community development in Nigeria.
“Chief Emmanuel Umenwa is a beacon of excellence whose contributions to the pharmaceutical sector have saved countless lives and elevated standards of healthcare delivery,” he said.
Iloabanafor commended Umenwa’s journey from entrepreneurship to becoming a prominent figure in Nigeria’s pharmaceutical sector, noting that his leadership has been defined by courage, innovation, integrity and a strong commitment to improving access to quality healthcare.
As founder, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Geneith Pharmaceuticals Limited, Chief Umenwa has over two decades of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. He is a member of the Institute of Directors and an active Rotarian. His achievements have earned him several recognitions, including the Pillar of Pharmacy Award from the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, Lagos State Branch, and the National Outstanding Leadership Performance Award from the National Association of Polytechnic Students.
His philanthropic activities have also focused on healthcare access, medical support, health awareness and the fight against preventable diseases, particularly malaria. Under his leadership, Geneith Pharmaceuticals has supported anti-malaria campaigns and public health initiatives across communities in Nigeria.
Chief Umenwa holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and an MBA from the University of Lagos. He also serves on the boards of several organisations across the telecommunications, hospitality and pharmaceutical sectors.
The Geneith Health Competition, alongside the company’s wider health advocacy initiatives, has further strengthened Geneith Pharmaceuticals’ engagement with communities and promoted health literacy among Nigerians.
Also speaking, Geneith Health National Coordinator Pharm Blessing Ghensel described Umenwa as a great leader whose passion for youth development and quality healthcare for all in Migeria
Responding to the goodwill, Chief Umenwa expressed appreciation to his staff, business associates, industry stakeholders and well-wishers for their prayers and messages.
He pledged to remain committed to excellence, integrity and service to the Nigerian people.
In a special birthday appeal, Chief Umenwa urged Nigerians and healthcare stakeholders to *make the fight against malaria a collective priority.
> “The best way to celebrate my birthday is to join the fight against malaria and let us make Nigeria a malaria-free nation,” he said.
