Former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor, Chukwuma Soludo, was on Monday evening sighted at the Aso Rock Villa.
He was seen by journalists signing the visitors book on his way to the office of the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari.
Although Soludo did not see President Buhari during the visit, his presence at the Villa seemed to raise eyebrows at a time the President is concluding work on the list of ministerial nominees he would be sending to the National Assembly before the end of this month.
This is despite the fact that Soludo, who served as CBN governor under the administrations of Olusegun Obasanjo and Umar Yar’Adua, had last June declared that he was not ready to work for Buhari’s government.
Soludo had recently been quite critical of the financial management of the economy by the Jonathan administration, accusing it of frittering away about N30 trillion.
Also sighted in the Presidential Villa on Monday was the immediate past governor of Ekiti state, Kayode Fayemi.
Fayemi who wore a dark-colored kaftan with a cap, also entered the Chief of Staff’s office about 30 minutes after Soludo.
The two men waited for the Chief of Staff because he had been in the President’s office when they arrived.
