The Nigerian army has described the latest multiple bombings by terrorists as an indication of high level of desperation on the part of the Boko Haram terrorists.

There were multiple blasts in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital last night with Boko Haram terrorists believed to have struck a mosque and other areas at Gomari and Ajilari in Maiduguri. The explosion according to reports left many dead and others injured.

But in a statement by Army’s acting Director of Information, Colonel Sani Usman, the Nigerian military said it would not be deterred in its determined efforts of defeating Boko Haram terrorists in the shortest possible time.

The assurance comes as a video purportedly released by Abubakar Shekau, the leader of the terrorist group, emerged on Youtube, denying claims by the authorities that it is winning the six-year war against insurgency.
