A global convention meant to promote infrastructure initiatives in the African continent has been proposed by the African Development Partnership (AFIDEP) for October, in Zurich, Switzerland.
The conference is coming against the backdrop of migration crisis that has hit some of Europe’s cash strapped economies as a result of the crisis in Syria.
The staggering number of migrants fleeing Syria underscores investments that have been made in infrastructure over the years. Thus, it is believed that by opening investment projects in both the Middle East and Africa, the need for wage-workers will increase.
According to a press release, the conference also seeks to address the roots of poverty, thus commencing the long journey to wide-scale social and economic improvements across African countries.
Speakers from around the world, including delegates from the African Development Bank, will grace the conference to make a case for Public Private Partnership based development in Sub-Saharan Africa and the world at large.
