As part of its activities to celebrate the Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NACDEL 2015), the Nigerian Army has slated 1-6 July to mark the significant day, with the theme: “Equipping the Nigerian Army to Enhance Operational Efficiency in Combating Threats to National Security”.
In a statement issued on Monday in Abuja by the acting Director of Army Public Relations, Sani Usman, it was stated that the activities would kick off on Wednesday, July 1, with a news briefing by the Chief of Army Staff, Kenneth Minimah, in Abuja.
There would be Juma’at prayers on Friday, July 3, at all the Nigerian Army formation headquarters nationwide, and inter-denominational church service on Sunday, July 5, at all formations and units of the army.
Also, there would be a two-day free medical services organised for the Internally Displaced Persons during the celebration which would be carried out by the Nigerian Army Medical Corps.
“There will also be wreath-laying ceremony at the Military Cemetery, and a visit to hospital patients at the 7 Division Hospital and Medical Services.
“The grand finale of NADCEL 2015 will be Chief of Army Staff’s address to troops and decoration of troops with medals,’’ the statement added.
