Former Big Brother Africa star Elikem Kumordzie has confirmed he paid a dowry of USD 25,000 on his lover Pokello Nare, at their traditional wedding ceremony in Harare, the capital of Zimbabwe on Saturday, June 20.
The lovebirds, who met on season 8 of Africa's foremost reality TV show, BBA 'The Chase', dated on and off for about two years before finally deciding to become one last weekend.
In a press briefing, he said, "The lobola (bride price for a traditional marriage in Zimbabwe) was 25,000 US dollars. A deposit of 20,000 US dollars was paid on Saturday and the 5,000 US dollars balance is to be paid at the 'white wedding'.
"I initially didn't want to make this information public, but people are getting figures wrong so I want to correct it, and that he paid a lot of money and before you pay such money for a lady's hand in marriage you have to be sure she's the one."
Meanwhile, the fashion designer has dropped the hint that their white wedding might take place in Ghana in six months' time.
