The management of Kwara United FC of Ilorin has given its technical crew a three-match ultimatum to shape up or be sanctioned.
The general manager of the club, Alhaji Haruna Maigidansanma, said this in Ilorin on Tuesday. He said that the Tunde Abdulrahman-led crew must pick seven points from a possible nine in its next three games or they will be shown the exit door.
The matches picked for them are away to Bayelsa United on Sunday, June 28; home to Enyimba Int’l FC on July 1, and another away game against FC Taraba on July 5.
He said the decision was arrived after a meeting with the technical crew late Monday evening during a review of the 1-1 draw against Lobi Stars of Makurdi in Ilorin on Sunday in a Match Day 13 encounter of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
Maigidansanma added that the management will only be ready to work with a team of officials and players that will justify the huge investment on the team and not those that will only be collecting salaries without any justification for it.
The Kwara United manager maintained that the target at the beginning of the season was to see his team play in the continent at the end of the current season and that the management will not settle for anything less.
Maigidansanma further said that if teams could come to Ilorin and take points "I must be able to do same too anywhere.” He has also confirmed that the management will also meet the players soon to seek to know who among them is ready to work for the progress of the team.
