THE Speaker of Kwara House of Assembly, Dr Ali Ahmad has urged Muslims to use the Ramadan fast for the worship of Allah and supplication for positive change in Nigeria.This contained in his Ramadan Message signed by his special Assistant on Media, Alhaji AbdulRahman Sanni in Ilorin on Thursday.
The statement quoted the new speaker as saying Ramadan called for steadfastness, sacrifice, perseverance and benevolence among the faithful.According to the statement, the speaker urged the three tiers of government, corporate organisations and affluent individuals to show commitment towards improving the living condition of the ordinary people in the state.
The speaker attributed the nation’s travails to failure of Nigerians to obey Allah’s injunctions.He charged Muslims to use the fasting period for spiritual rejuvenation and pray for the success of the new government in Nigeria by making life more abundant for the citizens.
The statement quoted the governor as lauding the existing peaceful co-existence between both Muslims and Christians in the state. Dr Ali Ahmad assured the people that under his stewardship, the house will be genuinely committed toward providing a platform for good governance in the state.
