Saraki’s competency will restore the confidence of Nigerians in the legislature –sulyman Buhari

The recent victory of the Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki as the senate president of Nigeria has generated a lot of reactions among politicians, people as well as social crusaders and news men across the country. While speaking with people in Ilorin, the home of the new Senate President of Nigeria. Several indigenes media experts and people of kwarans are happy as they shared their views.

 Alhaji Sulyman Buhari, Publicity Secretary of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, also described the new senate president as a selfless man who had sacrificed a lot as an APC leader. According to him in his words

 “The Bukola Saraki I know is a leader that has sacrificed almost everything he has for the growth and success of the APC. This is a leader who sacrificed his presidential ambition for the stability of the APC by supporting the candidacy of the Gen. Buhari against the admonition of his numerous supporters, admirers and groups who urged him to contest for the exalted office of the presidency”.

  He further stated that having won the election as the senate president, he is confident Senator Bukola Saraki has the leadership capacity to tackle these issues ‎and to restore the confidence of Nigerians in the legislature.

The Senior Special Assistant to the Kwara State Governor on Media, Dr Muideen Akorede, expressed optimism that the Senate President, being a competent leader, would provide a robust leadership by working harmoniously with the Executive arm of government.

 According to Olayinka Alaya, the emergence of Dr. Bukola Saraki as the senate president of the eight national assembly is like a divine intervention.   He further explained briefly how the all progressive congress misplaced their priority in last NASS elections which gave the senate leader his well deserved victory.

 Another kwaran indigene Mr.  Hakeem Abdullah a student of Federal polytechnic, Offa said the senate leader deserved the victory as the most qualified candidate for the office senate Presidency.  

According to a media expert, Mrs. Raliat Ibrahim from the Nigerian Television Authority Ilorin, the emergence of Senator Bukola Saraki as the eight president of national assembly in Nigeria is a victory for democracy.

While Adebayo Adedayo while sharing his views with CEO Africa, he  stated that the senate president understood the fact the that national assembly is not all about the majority party or a godfather who could decide what must happen on the floor of  senate house. He further gave qudos to the senate leader on his bold step to partner with an opposing party to emerge as the senate presidency.

   The Former Dean, Faculty of Business and Social Science, University of Ilorin,  also shared his view with CEO Africa, the Don described Saraki as a political giant who has established his firm control in the Nigerian politics going by the outcome of the last elections. The scholar finally added that Dr. Saraki did his calculations well before taking the risk.

Many kwarans as shown great hope in the victory of Senator Bukola Saraki as the Senate president eight president of national assembly in Nigeria. It is  expected as the new Senate President settles down to legislate for the good and well-being of Nigerians that he would provide good leadership qualities to carry his colleagues along to better governance.
