
Ships waiting to berth
Petroleum products and food items will flood Nigerian market soon as eight ships laden with these products and items have arrived Lagos ports, waiting to berth.
This is contained in a publication, `Daily Shipping Position’, made available by the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) to newsmen on Thursday in Lagos.
The document noted that three of the ships were waiting to discharge petrol, two base oil and one each carrying aviation fuel, container and bulk, rice, NAN reports.
It indicated that 41 other ships laden with petrol, diesel, kerosene, fresh fish, general cargo, buck wheat, containers, steel products, bulk clinker, gypsum, buthane gas and base oil are being expected at the ports.
The publication, however, explained that 10 other ships, containing diesel, base oil, crude salt, buck wheat, rice, container, fresh fish and bulk sugar, are currently discharging at the ports.
