The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Benue State, has set up an investigative committee to probe the poor showing of the party at the last general elections in the state.

Chairman of the panel and former Minister of State for Education, Dr. Jerry Agada, in a statement in Makurdi, the state capital, said that the 10-member panel has the responsibility of assessing the performance of the party in the last elections.

According to Dr. Agada, “Aside looking at why the party had a poor showing at the elections, our term of reference also includes looking at the roles members played before and during the elections.

“I must point out that we will not witch hunt anybody, but we are taking an holistic view of what transpired before and during the elections with a view to coming out with appropriate recommendations that will  place the party in a better position for future elections.”

He added that the committee has been empowered to apportion blames where necessary, irrespective of who was involved at whatever level.
