The National Industrial Court, Abuja, on Wednesday, restrained the Nigeria Labour Congress from picketing the Nigerian Postal Service.

Justice Peter Lifu ruled that the NLC should not go ahead with the action, pending the hearing and determination of the interlocutory motion.

“The respondents (NLC) are hereby restrained by themselves, their affiliates, privies, agents, assigns, servants or anybody claiming through or acting through them, from picketing or taking any step to picket, intimidate, harass or embark on industrial action against the applicants in any manner, disrupting the operations of the 1st applicant.

Mr. Lifu adjourned the case to June 18 for hearing.

The claimant’s counsel, Bernard Ekawon, said that the NLC refused to accept the order served on them and went ahead with picketing the applicant – Nigerian Postal Service..

Mr. Ekawon said that they would seek a contempt of court order against the respondent.
