All is set for the forthcoming parliamentary election in Rwanda, as the governing RPF party seeks to retain its majority seats, CEOAFRICA.com gathered.

Sources disclosed that the President Paul Kagame’s party had 42 out of 53 seats of the outgoing women-dominated parliament.

The polls come days after two people were killed in two grenade attacks in the capital, Kigali.

No group has said it carried out the attacks but officials have blamed the rebel Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Rwanda (FDLR), which is accused of links to the 1994 genocide.

Rwanda has experienced a lot of stability in democracy after the last genocide where many minority Tutsis and moderate Hutus were eliminated, although President Kagame has been increasingly accused of ignoring human rights and stamping out any opposition.
