 "PRESS STATEMENT

 SENATOR Rasidi Ladoja has described the passage his colleague/friend,

former Ondo State Governor Olusegun Kokumo Agagu as a rude shock and

doubtful to believe, saying “this is devastating.”

The immediate helmsman in Ondo state was said to be holding meeting with PDP stakeholders from the state when he slumped and gave up the ghost in his Lagos residence yesterday (Friday) evening.

The former Oyo state governor noted that his passage at this time is colossal lost to both the country and Ondo state while stressing that the vacuum created by his exist would be a great task to fill.

Extolling Agagu’s virtues further, Senator Ladoja said “Agagu ability to overcome every obstacle in his path in administering Ondo state was his personal strength and style of politics. You can disagree with him, but it is important to understand the kind of politician he was. He always strives to be fair to all no matter whose ox is gored. What was unusual was that he

sought to be rooted in people's daily lives, but he also believed that ideology mattered. Hence, his deep thought in core beliefs and values of democratic tents.”

He was a great debater on issues of national importance with depth analysis to sway his listeners, a discipline party loyalist and a team player while we were together in PDP. His love for green court to unwind was unparallel for a man known for his tight schedules.

Ladoja added that the success recorded during his tenure as governor was done with dedication and conviction to the people. And his passing leaves agap in the lives of all who knew him.

Senator Ladoja however prays for the repose of the former governor adding “Our hearts go out to you Mrs. Funke Agagu and the entire family in your time of sorrow. We pray the love of God enfolds you during your journey through grief.” “
