ABUJA — Nigerian troops yesterday finally succeeded in clearing terrorists out of Madagali, the last Local Government area held by Boko Haram terrorists in Adamawa State.

Director, Defence Information, Major General Chris Olukolade, who has been on a tour mission in the North-East, disclosed that there was no casualties on the side of the Nigerian forces, which included the Army, Airforce and other security agencies.

Meanwhile mopping up is ongoing to recover arms and other dangerous weaponry used by the terrorists even as many of the terrorists were killed.

It will be recalled that a week ago, following 2 days of heavy fighting between Special Forces of the Nigerian military backed by Nigerian Airforce fighter aircraft, commenced the battle to fully liberate Madagali and Gulag, another major community under the control of Boko Haram terrorists.

The fight for the liberation of Madagali and Gulag resulted in scores of the Terrorists being killed and heavy weaponry recovered and this was received with jubilation in Adamawa State with many indigenes of the areas hailing the gallantry of the Nigerian military.
