SECURITY details withdrawn from the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Honourable Aminu Tambuwal, by the Department of State Security (DSS), has been restored, Nigerian Tribune can report.

Nigerian Tribune further gathered in Abuja that the DSS restored its men that were withdrawn from the security pool of the Speaker on Wednesday evening.

Spokesman of the speaker, Imam Imam, confirmed to the Nigerian Tribune that the security details were restored on Wednesday evening, stressing that it was only the DSS that had restored its men earlier withdrawn from the Speaker.

It will be recalled that the Speaker’s security details were withdrawn on October 30, 2014, after his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC), citing Section 68(g) of the Constitution.

The Sergeant-at-Arms, the security arm of the National Assembly, had served as his detail during the absence of the official security details.

The number of men restored by the DSS were not made known for security reasons.
