Former deputy governor of Oyo State, Alhaji Azeez Gbolarumi and one of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial aspirants, Engr. Femi Babalola today canvassed the electorates in the door to door campaign of Sen. Teslim Folarin of the Peoples Democratic Party describing him as the best of all the lots of gubernatorial candidates in Oyo state.  Sen. Teslim Folarin said the essence of the neighbourhood campaign is to ensure that the good programmes of his party get deep down to everyone before the forthcoming general elections. He said his party offers programmes which are not common in other parties especially where the welfare of the people of the state matters most. He said it is in this regard that he offers himself for service to the state.

While addressing traders in Oja Bode area of Ibadan, he implored them to give their votes to PDP as he believes PDP is still the best party to identify with because of its people-oriented programmes. In his words,”PDP is the only party that would give out loans and grants to boost and expand your business and also uphold the principle of youth and women empowerment.”  He reminded them not to forget too soon the unprecedented deeds of President Goodluck Jonathan and therefore charged them to cast their votes for PDP. He assured them that voting for PDP amounts to getting Ibadan state which he said is one of the greatest needs of the people of Oyo state. Meanwhile, the Association of Herbs Sellers (Egbe Alagbo) in Ibadan has unanimously threw their weight behind Sen. Teslim Folarin’s gubernatorial bid, promising to mobilize more people to support and vote for the PDP.

Responding to his remark, the chairman of Oja Bode, Mr. Jelili Amubikaun having welcomed the campaign team, commended Sen. Teslim Folarin as a leader he has always admired for his unique attributes of transparent honesty and lover of people. He thanked him for offering himself for the service of the state. He further said Oyo state at this point in time needs a leader of his quality stock. The chairman made an open endorsement of Sen. Teslim Folarin and all the PDP contestants, urging traders in the market to ensure their neighbours and friends vote for the PDP.

In a similar situation, the Nigerian Automobile Technicians Association (NATA) in Ibadan today hosted the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its gubernatorial candidate, Sen. Teslim Folarin at their South Western zonal office, Academy Ibadan. The association in their hundreds declared for PDP as their choice party. Speaking through the Zonal Coordinator of the South West chapter of NATA, Comrade Dele Odewale gave a testimonial of Sen. Teslim Folarin to be a leader par excellence who can be counted on. He said, “I want my people to vote for him because he is a very peaceful and honest man in all ramifications and I can say Oyo state will be safe in his hands.” Comrade Odewale went further to urge Nigerians to vote for President Goodluck Jonathan who he said means well for our great country.
