A group of physically-challenged persons under the aegis of the Peoples Democratic Party Deaf Youths Forum have pledged their support for the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan and the governorship candidate of the PDP in Plateau State, Mr. Gyang Pwajok.

Speaking at a meeting in Jos where they hosted one of their patrons, Mr. Isaac Wadak, the chairman of the group, Mr. Julius Kefas, said that they had no doubt that their future would be guaranteed under Jonathan at the federal level and Pwajok at the state level.

Kefas said that the group did not see a brighter future in the All Progressives Congress leadership, stressing that they foresaw that the PDP would not abandon them but would continue to implement people-friendly initiatives for the benefit of the people.

Kefas said, “We are here to discuss how to mobilise support for President Jonathan and GNS Pwajok and indeed all other PDP candidates in the forthcoming elections. With the coming elections, we are not expecting any change in Plateau State. Thus, the PDP will continue to transform the state and its people for better.

“We have looked at the credentials of all the governorship candidates in the state and their manifestos and come to the conclusion that the PDP candidate, Senator Pwajok, deserves the support of every stakeholder and we will ensure that he wins the forthcoming poll with ease.”

He said that he and his colleagues would also support all PDP candidates at every level to win their elections.

Wadak, who expressed delight at the enthusiasm of the group despite their disability, said that he decided to attend the meeting so as to hear what their problems were and forward their demands and complaints to the appropriate quarters.

He applauded the group for their solidarity and promised that the party would continue to live up to the expectation of the people at all times.

Wadak also appealed to them to go and obtain their Permanent Voter Cards, saying that was the only way they would be able to vote for their candidates.
