The Beauticians and Hairdressers Association of Oyo state today declared
their unalloyed support for the gubernatorial bid of Sen. Teslim Kolawole
Folarin of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). This pronouncement was made
during their monthly meeting at Podoo area of Ibadan when the former
senate leader paid a surprise visit to urge them on the need to collect
their PVC to be eligible to vote in the forth coming general elections.

During the visit, Teslim Folarin described the group as assets to the
State and people of noble profession whose importance cannot be
underestimated in the life of every good looking person and the economy of
the state. He also qualified them as women of virtue who toil daily to
support their husband and family for the good of the society. In his
words: “first and foremost, let me thank you all for the beautiful  works
you do to adorn our wives, daughters, mothers and all the women folks. You
are all great for it and I gladly commend you all.”

Folarin went further to tell the women that he chooses to visit them to
discuss the imperative need to vote in the forth coming elections. He said
this is very important because the choice they make can go a long way to
affect the future of their children and husbands. He added that there are
so many candidates begging for votes; but that they should only give their
votes to the candidate who seems concerned about the future of their
children. Folarin added: “I want to use this medium to tell the good
people of Oyo state that they have another opportunity to reshape their
destiny through the ballots.” He challenged them to subject all
gubernatorial candidates to thorough evaluation and vote by their God
given conscience. He further enlightened them on electoral processes and
enjoined them to vote as it is their fundamental right to do so.

While responding to Folarin’s remark, the president of the
association,Prophetess Adegbete JP who spoke on behalf of the group told
Sen Folarin: “we really thank you for counting us worthy of your visit. We
appreciate your person and your good thoughts about us. Very few people
appreciate what we are doing for the society; but you have come not to
only make us feel very important, but also to make us proud. ”

The secretary to the group, Alhaja Sikiratu Oladejo who spoke in line with
the president, thanked the PDP gubernatorial candidate Senator Teslim
Folarin.  She said “before you came, we as an association had decided to
endorse you after critically considering other gubernatorial candidates in
the State. Our decision was based on your passion and sincerity for our
dear State in the area of Women and Youth empowerment, Education,
Agriculture and Health. Above all you are a very young man; it is our
prayer that God will direct you to remember all your promises.”
