Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has responded to comments made by Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo by sharing what appeared to be the governor's West African Examinations Council (WAEC) result on social media.

The singer posted the document on his Instagram Stories on Friday without any accompanying caption. However, the move was widely interpreted as a subtle jab at Okpebholo following his recent remarks about Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke.

Davido has been one of the most vocal supporters of Governor Adeleke, who is also his uncle, as preparations intensify for the August 15 Osun State governorship election.

The social media post came a day after Governor Okpebholo mocked Adeleke during a campaign rally for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Osun, Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO.

Speaking at the rally, which was attended by Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and other APC leaders, Okpebholo ridiculed Adeleke's well-known dancing style, suggesting it had become a distraction from governance.

"Before somebody signs paper, he will dance. Are you not tired? For four years, this man has been dancing. Before he takes breakfast, before he drinks tea, he will dance," the Edo governor said.

Okpebholo also urged supporters to collect money from opposition politicians but vote for the APC candidate in the August 15 governorship election.

Davido has remained actively involved in his uncle's re-election campaign, attending campaign rallies and using his social media platforms to mobilise support. He recently appealed to political stakeholders and security agencies to ensure the Osun governorship election is peaceful, free and fair.
