The Deputy Governor of Adamawa State, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, on Tuesday distributed school uniforms, school bags, and exercise books to pupils of Kikan and Zangun Primary Schools in Numan Local Government Area as part of efforts to promote access to quality basic education.
The initiative aligns with the Adamawa State Government's commitment to strengthening primary education and encouraging increased school enrollment and retention among children across the state.
Professor Farauta received a warm reception from residents of both communities during the outreach programme. Addressing pupils, parents, and community members, she emphasized that primary education remains the cornerstone of every child's academic and personal development.
She explained that the intervention was motivated by her desire to support children and give back to the community, stressing that education remains one of the most valuable investments in a child's future.
“This gesture is my way of encouraging our children and easing the burden on parents. Education is the greatest asset we can bequeath to a child,” Professor Farauta said.
The distribution of educational materials is expected to improve learning conditions for pupils while supporting the state's broader objective of ensuring that every child has access to the resources needed for a successful educational journey.
