Social media commentator Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has confirmed that he received an invitation from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The invitation follows a petition filed by legal practitioner Blessing Agbomhere of Blessing Agbomhere & Partners, requesting a comprehensive investigation into the financial activities, sponsorship arrangements, and funding sources of both VeryDarkMan and activist lawyer Deji Adeyanju.

Responding via his social media platforms, VeryDarkMan described the development as a deliberate effort to suppress dissenting voices in Nigeria. He alleged that individuals affiliated with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) were behind the petition and were using legal processes to target critics of the current administration.

According to him, the move is intended to discourage public criticism of the government's performance, particularly on issues relating to security and governance.

“They want to stop us from speaking against this evil government that has failed to protect the lives of Nigerians. So, they used their people to write petitions,” he wrote on his Instagram page.
